Course Content

Module 1: From 3-Act Model to the Hero’s Journey
This module builds a strong foundation in story structure for teachers and writers. Participants will move from simple narrative understanding to advanced story architecture using the 3-Act Model and the 12-stage Hero’s Journey. The focus is not only on writing stories, but also on learning how to teach story structure progressively in classrooms, across age groups and learning levels. By the end of this module, participants will be able to: Understand why structure is essential to storytelling Use the 3-Act Model confidently Apply the Hero’s Journey to personal, fictional, and classroom stories Design age-appropriate activities to teach story structure step by step Avoid overwhelming students by introducing structure progressively

  • LESSON 1 : Understanding Story Structure | The 3-Act Model and the Hero’s Journey
    01:02:00
  • LESSON 2 : Character Sketch | Building the Hero Before the Journey
  • LESSON 3 : Teaching Story Structure Progressively

Module 2: Grammar for Storytelling
In Module 1, participants learned how stories are structured and how characters move through a journey of transformation. Module 2 focuses on how stories are written at the sentence level. This module does not treat grammar as a set of rules to memorise. Instead, grammar is positioned as a storytelling tool that helps writers: Control point of view Manage time and perspective Show emotion through action Build mood and rhythm Guide readers smoothly through the story world Participants will learn how to make intentional grammar choices while writing and how to teach these choices explicitly and progressively to students.

MODULE 3: Building the World and Starting the Journey (Act 1)
In this module, learners understand how strong stories begin. They learn how to build the world of the story, introduce the main character, show what is missing, and slowly move the character toward change. By the end of this module, learners will be able to Write a strong opening for a story Match opening styles to different genres Understand and write the Call to Adventure Use mentors, thresholds, and literary tools effectively in Act 1

Module 4 : The New World, Tests, and The Ordeal (Act 2)
Act 2 begins right after the character crosses the threshold. The character is now in a new space, a new situation, or a new set of rules. This is where the story starts moving faster, the pressure increases, and the character is tested before the biggest conflict (the ordeal).

Module 5: Closing The Story (Act 3)
Act 3 is about coming back changed. The character has already faced the Ordeal and received the Reward. Now the story must show how that change works in the real world. Act 3 answers four essential questions: How does the character return from the intense experience? Can the character use what they gained? How is the main problem finally resolved? What feeling does the story leave behind? Act 3 is quieter than Act 2 but deeply meaningful. It focuses on clarity, choice, and closure.

Module 6: Dialogue and Advanced Literary Devices
Module 6 focuses on how stories are written on the page. This module teaches how to: Write effective dialogue Use advanced literary devices purposefully Build complete, engaging scenes that move the story forward This is a craft module. The focus is not “what happens” but how it is shown.

Module 7: Feedback, Rubrics & Creative Assessment
Learning Outcomes: Use creative writing rubrics to assess creativity and coherence. Teach students self-editing and peer feedback. Replace red marks with reflective prompts.

Module 8: Publishing, Performance & Beyond
Learning Outcomes: Guide students to perform, publish, and share their writing confidently. Design mini anthologies, blogs, or open mic sessions. Learn how to integrate writing across subjects and grades
